Dallas Tap Dazzlers
The Dallas Tap Dazzlers is an exciting and versatile non-profit senior dance group with membership ages starting at 45 with no upper limit! The Dazzlers have several performing members in their 80s!
The Dallas Tap Dazzlers were founded in 1990 by Fran Dempsey, a former Kilgore College Rangerette officer. Fran kept the Dazzlers on their toes by insisting on professional performance standards in dance and expression.
The current Director, Brigitta Powers, was elected in 2026 and has danced with the Dazzlers since 2011.
The Dazzlers perform complex tap steps with precision. To emphasize their belief in maintaining vitality throughout life, the Dazzler motto is “If you rest, you rust!”
The Dazzlers perform year-round for audiences of all ages throughout Texas and beyond, entertaining at thousands of events to date. This popular ensemble has earned lavish praise for their dazzling costumes, high kicks and outstanding legs!
This dynamic group has won several regional and national dance competitions and has been featured in numerous news publications.
Notable Performances: Polyphonic Spree concert, Lucy Darling show, Lee Greenwood concert, Billy Bob's Texas, the Texas Governor’s inauguration, America's Got Talent, Cross Canadian Ragweed country music video, Ms. Senior America Pageant, and Dallas Holiday Parade. The group also placed first in San Antonio’s Battle of the Flowers parade and was featured in the 2000 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York.
The Dazzlers’ mission is to inspire others to stay physically and mentally fit, while enjoying the fun and camaraderie of those who share the passion of tap.

Your support helps us share the joy of tap dancing with audiences of all ages. The Dallas Tap Dazzlers is a volunteer group — our members personally cover the costs of costumes, rehearsal space, and travel to and from events. With your sponsorship, you help lighten that burden and ensure we can keep dancing, performing, and bringing joy to the community.
