| Dazzler History |
| The Dallas Tap Dazzlers were organized in 1990 by Frances Dempsey, who felt that the routines performed by our group should be a bit more challenging, and the costumes more dazzling, than your typical senior dance group! | ||
| Since that time the organization has more than tripled, growing from just seven (7) members to almost twenty (20), and still growing. In the years since the group was formed, the Dazzlers have set an amazing average of one hundred (100) performances every year! And, we perform for all types of occasions, from nursing homes with an audience of 15 - 20, to conferences, conventions and banquets attended by thousands. | ||
| Because Frances is a former officer of the Kilgore Rangerettes, she knows how to get things done, and she sets very high standards for everything ... performance level, energy, makeup, hair, high kicks, and fun! As a result, the Dazzlers have established a reputation as one of the most entertaining and recognizable groups in the Metroplex. | ||
| The Dazzlers have appeared on local and national television and have been featured (twice!) in the Metropolitan section (center cover) of the Dallas Morning News. In 2002, the band Cross Canadian Ragweed featured the Dazzlers in their first music video, which received a nomination as "Best Country MusicVideo of the Year". | ||
| Other appearances have included yearly Iwo Jima Survivors' Reunions, several Ms. Texas Senior America pageants, the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade 2000 and one of the annual Kilgore Rangerettes "Revels" spectaculars. | ||
| The Dazzlers are particularly proud of the Regional and National Championship titles won in recent years (actually took "Most High Points" in the 2004 Regional Star Power Competition, sneaking right past all those teenagers!), but constantly strive to improve! | ||
